For those who know me - I have received a letter today telling me I have won my appeal for ill health retirement.

I now have to agree a leaving date with my line manager (in the next 4 months) and then I'm gone!!

So now I will be preparing a full and final offer to end the IVA - hopefully in March.

It's been a year since I started the retirement application, so it goes to show if you persevere you can win!![:D]

That's really good news Kazza. Obviously I don't mean it's good news that you are ill though!

Well done Kazza -- I know these things take an excessively long time and all the while you are in limbo. If t'were me, I'd be gone yesterday :-)

Thanks guys - I will stick around forever! It means I can repay the help, advice and friendship I have had on the forum.

I still can't quite believe it. Have read the copy of the letter and re-read it and even read it out twice to my union rep!!

I've got so much leave I will probably be gone by the end of the month. 28 years - I think that's more than enough work for the government!!
