Bless him! Harry has just come back in as some idiots are letting off fireworks. They don't really bother him but he doesn't like being out when they go off. He's now curled up on the chair next to the radiator as we've got the heating on!

Oscar loves hugging the front room radiator. The understairs cupboard is his den if he needs it for the next 7-10 days - he likes to hide in there he hates fireworks but he knows how to combat his fear by putting hiself in the cupboard along with a few old dog blankets and comforters. I keep chucking a treat or two but they rarely get eaten. When he was younger he was so scared he used to literally try and climb the walls and had to have tablets to knock him out, carrying him upstairs to keep an eye on him when we went to bed was an effort it was like carrying a person totally limp up the stairs!

Poor thing. We had an Old English Sheepdog when I was little and we used to have to tranquilise him as he was so frightened. The last dog we had when I was at home also hated them and used to sit and shake. It was a relief in some ways when she got older and was deaf.

I really hate fireworks for the distress they cause animals.

If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else’s, we’d grab ours back.

Funds paid to date accepted as F&F 16th August 2013, the wait for completion begins.
Wait over....certificate recieved 3rd May 2014

Thanks Andy and Lesley. I've never seen him over-washing or pulling out his fur but the symptoms of alopecia fit.

Only I could have a cat with alopecia!

Well Dave just tried to play with Harry to amuse him and now has blood running down his thumb! I have tears of laughter running down my face!

My big boy had something similar and it was an allergy. The vet put him on steroids which made him fat and lazy so I took him off those and bought some Brewers Yeast which is vitamin B from the health shop. He loved then and in no time his fur was back and he was back to his rabbit catching self.
